Robert Leslie Kellam, 84, of Biscoe, N.C., passed away on December 31, 2012, at Reid Heart Center in Pinehurst.

“Pop” Kellam was an original member of the Biscoe Fire Department and served for 33 years, retiring as Chief. He also served on the Biscoe Town Council as Police Commissioner. A career machinist and visionary, he leaves behind a 43 year old company that bears his name.

He is survived by his children, Bobby Kellam of Biscoe, Helen Williams of Eagle Springs, Stan Kellam of Valencia, CA, and Kelly Kellam of Biscoe, his brother, Henry H. Kellam Jr., of Raleigh, as well as 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kellam and grandson, Kameron Kellam.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 7, 2013, from 6 to 8 PM at Southside Baptist Church, 125 Cedar Creek Road, Biscoe, N.C. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 8 at 11 AM, also at Southside Baptist Church. Burial will be immediately following the service in Biscoe Cemetery.
