After a three-month investigation of drug trafficking in the Norman community, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office arrested James Chadrick Cooper, 31, of Hwy 220, Candor, on Aug. 30.

Cooper was charged with five counts of trafficking cocaine and one count of selling/delivering cocaine, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The investigation totaled more than 310 grams of crack cocaine being seized, lawmen said. Cooper was arrested and placed in Richmond County Jail under a $500,000 secured bond.

In the same case, Krissy Lynette Robinson, 20, of E. Second Ave., Mt. Gilead, was also arrested on Aug. 30, on charges of possession with the intent to sell/deliver cocaine, conspiring to traffic cocaine and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, the Sheriff’s Office said. Robinson was placed in Richmond County Jail under a $25,000 secure bond.

Jason Alexander Quick, 28, of Fisher Drive, Hamlet, was arrested on Sept. 4 on charges of possession of stolen goods and obtaining property by false pretense, after he allegedly pawned stolen items at a pawnshop in Hamlet that had been stolen from a home break-in in Marlboro County, S.C., lawmen said. Quick was also served a failure to appear warrant for misdemeanor larceny, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He was placed in Richmond County Jail under a $6,000 secure bond.

Brandon Robert Askins, 27, of Arbor Road, Rockingham, was arrested Sept. 8 on the charge of sell/deliver cocaine, after he allegedly sold the substance to officers, according to lawmen. Askins was placed in Richmond County Jail under a $5,000 secure bond.

Tyler Joseph Cates, 20, of Battley Dairy Road, Hamlet, was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office Sept. 11 on nine counts of injury to personal property, for allegedly busting windows and vandalizing eight school buses parked at Cordova School, the Sheriff’s Office said. Cates was also charged with cutting tires on a car parked in a yard on Country Canyon Drive, said lawmen. Cates was placed in Richmond County Jail under a $10,000 secure bond.

Jose Fabian Juarez-Solis, 33, of Eagle Lane, Ellerbe, was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 31 for identity theft. He allegedly used another person’s identity to obtain a driver’s license.

Herman Baldwin, 60, of Snake Hill Road, Rockingham, was arrested Sept. 17 on three counts of larceny of a motor vehicle, and three counts of obtaining property by false pretense, the Sheriff’s Office said. Baldwin allegedly took three vehicles from a yard on Bill Nicholson Road, and sold them to a local scrap yard, lawmen said. He was placed in Richmond County Jail under a $5,000 secure bond.
