On Saturday August 11, 2012, Rachelle Adrienne Bolger, 40 of Rockingham, won her victory in heaven after a vigorous 5 year battle with cancer.
Rachelle was born to parents George and Anita Bolger on October 10, 1971 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the older sister to Georgie Bolger Adkins and George Bolger, Jr whom she played a major role in their life as more than a sister, and more of a role model. She was a 1990 graduate of Alta High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1991 Rachelle moved to Rockingham with her parents and siblings. In 1999 Rachelle was hired at Hamlet Hospital as part of the environmental services department where she worked full time and also worked as a full time student at Richmond Community College towards her Associates Degree in Nursing. In May 2002, she received her degree from the Lillian Duer James School of Nursing at RCC and she completed her Board Certification on June 28, 2002 becoming a Licensed Registered Nurse at that time. Rachelle’s employment continued at Hamlet Hospital, currently known as Sandhills Regional Medical Center, as a passionate ICU nurse until July 2011 when she was forced to leave work due to her sickness. During her employment at Sandhills Regional, Rachelle was very dedicated to helping others. She was an active participant on the hospitals Relay for Life team, serving as the Team Captain in 2012.
Along with all the accomplishments Rachelle counted her children Annalisa Bolger, Autumn King and Cody King amongst her greatest accomplishments of her life. Rachelle being a single mom served and cared for her children diligently. She encouraged them to be active in sports, to achieve highly in their academics and instilled in them to be the very best that they can be.
In addition to her parents, siblings and her children, Rachelle leaves behind her grandmother, Beatrice Williams of Rockingham, nephew Jerry “Bubba” Goodwin IV, brother-in-law Tony Adkins, cousin Jason Daily of the home, beloved pet Rugur and a special group of friends and family.
The family will see friends on Monday August 13 from 6 to 9pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the homes of Foushee Street and Ann Street.
