Jerry Willie “Pete” Hamilton, 78, of Apt 2D Holiday Village, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Richmond County Memorial Park with Pastor Steven Gilmer officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Mr. Hamilton was born Sept. 27, 1933, in Lancaster, S.C., a son of the late John Sawyer and Mary Wright Hamilton. He was retired from the US Navy and had served during the Korean Conflict. He attended the Church of God of Prophecy. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary S. Hamilton.
He is survived by a step-son, Gary Brent Gibson of Rockingham; a daughter, Janice Smith of N. Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Sarah Hamilton Farmer of Hamlet; ten grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
