Brian Patrick decided to leave his job working for the North Carolina Department of Corrections, and strike out on his own. He celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting of his new business, Patrick Tire, on Friday.
“It’s really scary getting started, but I’m excited,” he said.
“As a small business owner, I understand the problems you face,” said Richmond County Commissioner Don Bryant. “Be sure to go to the Chamber events and meet people. Go to the Chamber website — that’s a good way to help get your name out there. These things are in place to help you, and I hope you make use of them.”
Patrick said he has been doing work to vehicles “all his life” as a hobby, and for side jobs.
“I just decided it was time to start doing it full time,” he said.
He is leasing a shop located at 638 U.S. 1 South, in Rockingham.
“It’s hard to talk over the noise of the traffic, but that’s a good thing,” said Chamber Chair Terry Greene, remarking on the busy location of the business.
The shop offers full service, alignments, brakes, N.C. vehicle inspections and a local shuttle service is available for all services. All brand name tires and all sizes are available upon request. The company offers wholesale and retail pricing. Rims up to 28” can be mounted and balanced.
