Dear Editor,
As we all contemplate the effects of federal budget cuts, we might keep in mind the needs of those in our community who make sacrifices for us, especially returning veterans many of whom are injured and/or will need jobs.
My faith in young people is constantly renewed by those willing to continue to serve us no matter what the circumstances that may befall them.
Brought to mind is the recent announcement in the newspaper of the pending marriage of Megan Poe and Lt. Nick Prieto, neither of whom I know.
Both college graduates, they have chosen to use their mental and physical talents to serve us.
She as a deputy sheriff in Anson County. He as an officer in the U.S. Army Airborne at Fort Bragg.
Despite high risk careers, they are following a higher calling seeing value in their lives to consider public service nevertheless.
With citizens like them, our nation will surely endure.

I guess I just get a little tired of Mr. Easy`s unrelenting campaign that does not interest me at all.
