A motorcycle ride to honor the little boy killed in a car crash on Dec. 8 will be held on Sunday, Jan. 20, at the Southern Roadhouse, 640 McNair Road, Rockingham.
The benefit will pay tribute to 9-year-old Jody Williams and his family.
The crash, which claimed the life of Jody and injured his grandmother, Emma Williams, happened on East Broad Avenue (Business U.S. 74) in Rockingham.
Sign ups for the ride will be from 12 to 1:30 p.m.
The ride will begin at 2 p.m. and end between 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
There will be no charge to participate in the motorcycle ride, but donations are strongly encouraged.
Food for the participants of the ride will be included and anyone else who does not wish to ride can still get a plate but is encouraged to give a donation.
All proceeds from the ride will go to benefit Jody’s family.
The benefit will also sell 50/50 raffle tickets. Anyone who buys a ticket gets a chance to win 50 percent of the money that is gained from the raffle ticket sales. There will also be an auction and door prizes.
