Jerry and Helen Benton Millen celebrated their 50th anniversary on April 7, 2012, at 2 p.m. hosted by their children.
They were married on April 7, 1962, at the East Rockingham Church Parsonage by Russell Caudill.
Helen is a housewife and Jerry is a retired letter carrier from the Rockingham Postal Service. They have 3 children, Angela Millen Smith and husband Henley of Hamlet, Lynn Millen and wife Deena of High Point and Jeff Millen and wife Bobbie Jo of Rockingham.
They have 8 grandchildren, Ryan Smith Stewart of Hamlet, Brent Smith of Charlotte, Whitney Millen Sewell of Rockingha, Dalton and Garrett Millen of Rockingham and Casey, Jadea and Ashton Millen of High Point. The couple also has 4 great grandchildren, Caitlyn and Jared Daniel of Hamlet, Lane Sewell of Hamlet and Fisher Sewell of Rockingham.
A reception was held at the home of their daughter, Angela Millen Smith and husband Henley. Around 60 relatives and friends attended.
