Now that Discovery Place KIDS-Rockingham has opened, parents and teachers in the area can expect a changing schedule.
The theme for March at the interactive learning museum is “I Like to Move It Move It: March to a healthy beat.”
“Through the month we will be exploring activities that teach more about keeping our bodies healthy, fit and in motion,” said Discovery Place, Inc. spokesperson Logan Stewart. “Little guests will learn how to do exercises that help their heart, brain and muscles and how to choose food that is good for their bodies and gives them plenty of energy. Plus, go green! We will also celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this month during Story Time and creative projects.”
Discovery Place KIDS-Rockingham will have weekend activities, and each weekend will be different. Special weekend activities during March will be held between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays, and beginning at 2 p.m. on Sundays. Kids can hear from guest speakers, learn dances and exercises.
March will also feature “Wonderful Wednesdays” at the museum, located at 233 E. Washington St. in downtown Rockingham. In March, kids can dance their way to a healthy brain, toddlers will get their own dance session, and kids will learn about how germs make us sick.
Discovery Place KIDS-Rockingham will also feature daily activities, such as story time at 9:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m., a science show at 3:45 p.m., puppet shows at 10:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. and Big Fun at 11:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.
