Leach Maness Johnson, 92, of 1864 Cotten Creek Road, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Biscoe Presbyterian Church, with the Reverend Dr. Bruce Lax officiating. Interment will be in Biscoe Cemetery with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main St., Star.

Johnson was born in Montgomery County to Ernest Caswell and Deborah Ethel Maness Johnson. He was a retired surveyor and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Leach Johnson.

He survived by his wife, Edna Dunlap Johnson, of the home; daughters, Donna Monroe (John), of Biscoe, Sherrie Quick (Alan), of Rockingham; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
