Laurinburg company plans toy run and auction

Murphy Brown LLC of Laurinburg, will be sponsoring a Toy Run (motorcycle ride), and auction on Oct. 27. There will be a $10 fee plus a toy donation for children between the ages of 2-12. The run will begin on Union Chapel Road in Pembroke at C and P Mini Mart, and will end at Murphy Brown LLC, 325 McKay St., Laurinburg.

Several Harley Davidson dealers have already donated hundreds of dollars worth of goods, as well as $100 to $150 gift cards that will be up for auction.

Murphy Brown LLC, has also begun collecting canned goods as well as toys for Restoring Hope Centers Christmas program. All funds raised will go to a Christmas Cheer program which will be used to support families in need.

“This is an opportunity to give back to the community and those in need,” said Murphy Brown employee, Marty Locklear of Pembroke.

In addition to the toy run, a cake auction will be held at the event. Registration will start at 10:30 a.m. with the ride beginning at noon. If you’re not able to attend the ride but would still like to donate financially, you can drop off donations in Pembroke, at the same address from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Donations will also be accepted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the weekdays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends in Laurinburg, at the address above.
