The Richmond County Tourism Development Authority’s website, www.visitrichmondcounty.com has been improved with new additions.

Jeffrey Cheatham of Walker Marketing works to keep it up-to-date.

It now features “Travel Packages” for fishing, shooting and racing sports. These sites offer 10% discounts to travelers.

In the “Recent Posts” section, I especially enjoyed the one on the Sandhills Game Land.

Under “Go Fishing,” check out “Pee Dee Fishing Adventures” for interesting pictures and videos by Robbie Burr.

He provides a view of the Blewett Falls trailrace that only people fishing in the river below the dam get to see. It is worthy of becoming a computer monitor screen image.

The site’s videos give other views of the river and fishing few people get to see unless they venture out onto the river. This site, as well as the entire Authority’s website, will keep viewers busy for awhile. It is well worth the visit, at least that is my opinion.

There is even a video of a recent Educational Television feature on Hamlet which is interesting to view.

The Richmond County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Authority are continually working to promote Richmond County. No doubt their work in promoting the county in some way assisted in the return of NASCAR to the Rockingham Speedway.

It means a lot to racing to have the continuing events of entertainment for fans at the Rockingham Dragway. Not many counties have two such premier giants of entertainment as part of their attraction.

This website is not just for tourists. It is another way for all of us to stay in touch with what is going on in our community and to appreciate what good things the county has to offer.
