Jack Dempsey Bowers, Jr. 57, of Amarillo, TX, formerly of Rockingham, died Monday, November 5, 2012. He was born September 15, 1955 in Montgomery County, NC, a son of the late Jack Dempsey Bowers, Sr. and Eva Jeraldean Myers Bowers.
Mr. Bowers graduated from Richmond Senior High class of 1973 and UNC Greensboro with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting. Jack worked for Burlington Industries for over 25 years. Jack was a dedicated and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Watson-King Funeral Home Chapel in Rockingham with Bishop Marvin Taylor officiating.
Surviving are his wife, Laraine Cox Bowers of Amarillo, TX; daughters, Jaclyn Bowers Beall and husband Sammy of Fairhope, AL and Lauren Bowers Dudley and husband Chris of Wilmington; step- daughters, Meagan and Madison Nations both of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Hannah Beall, Hudson Beall, Peyton Dudley, Jackson Dudley, Brooks Dudley, Jillian Dudley and McKinlee Nations; sisters, Pat Bowers Arnette and husband Danny of Raleigh and Peggy Bowers Preston and husband Daryl of Disputanta, VA; brother, Tim Bowers and wife Peggy of E. Moline, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham.
