William Hitt recently earned a Master of Science in Counseling from East Carolina University on Dec. 16, 2011, and on June 4, 2012, received North Carolina certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate.

His internship to complete this degree was at Pitt Community College in Greenville. During this time, William also worked with AmeriCorps/ECU Project HEART in Greenville. William’s educational background includes high school graduation from the North Carolina School of Science and Math in Durham, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from UNC-Chapel Hill.

William is currently employed with Dixon Social Interactive Services in Greenville. He also does part time counseling work in the evening program at Pitt Community College. Over the next two years, William will be accruing the 3000 hours required for full and complete licensure in the state of North Carolina.

William is the son of Bill and Martha Jo Hitt of Hamlet and the grandson of Joe and Ruth Maurice of Scotia Village Retirement Community in Laurinburg.
