Herbert Hoover Patrick, 83, of Pinehurst formerly of Cordova, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Quail Haven Village in Pinehurst. He was born November 10, 1928 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. Herbert Patrick, the last of seventeen children, of the late James Wallace and Kathleen Atkinson Patrick.
Mr. Patrick served in the US Navy and retired from Burlington Industries. He was a member of Cordova Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School Teacher and a Deacon. Mr. Patrick was an avid golfer and gardener.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 7, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Cordova Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Monroe officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. A private graveside service will be held at Richmond Co. Memorial Park.
Surviving, His wife of 59 years, Ruby Patrick of Pinehurst; Children, Teresa Price and husband Alec of Southern Pines, Butch Patrick and wife Kathy of Asheville, Debbie Patrick and husband Kevin Phillips of Holly Springs and Tiffaney Whitesides and husband John of Winston- Salem. Grandchildren, Scott Meacham, Andrew Patrick, Ellen Blackmon, Patrick Whitesides and Madison Whitesides.
