A hearing was in progress Tuesday afternoon in Hamlet to determine if Michael Parker is eligible to run for his seat as District Attorney.

Representatives from Richmond, Anson and Stanly counties heard the case. Their job is to determine if Parker lives in Marston, where he owns a home, or at his family home in Moore County.

The evidence presented Tuesday included copies of Parker’s vehicle registration forms, which list a Rockingham Post Office address, and his driver’s license, which lists Marston.

Some of the land Parker owns in Moore County has been in the family since it was granted them by the King of England.
