George Wilder Bryce Jr., of North Miami Beach, Fla., formerly of Hamlet, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Aventura Hospital in Miami, Fla.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at Mary Love Cemetery in Hamlet with Rev. Tony Joyner officiating. Burial will follow.
Mr. Bryce was born in Hamlet on Aug. 22, 1936, son of George Wilder Bryce Sr. and Mattie Bess Hayes Bryce. He attended Hamlet Schools and UNC Chapel Hill. He was a professor working at UNC and many other universities, obtaining many degrees.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Marsha Allen Bryce.
Levitt Weinstein Memorial Chapel in Florida and Harrington Funeral Home and Crematory in Hamlet served the family of Mr. Bryce.
