The former employees of Avondale Mills had a reunion dinner Sept. 29, at the Rockingham Fish Camp. The event, organized by Jimmy Collins and his wife, Daffy, had 36 former employees with family members in attendance. Special honor was presented to William Griffin, 91, for his years of service to three of the four mills. He began working there when it was Entwistle Mills. Griffin left the mill and Rockingham for a few years in order to fight in WWII. He then returned and worked until Avondale sold out to TNS Mills.
