The series has taken place each Tuesday night during the month of April. People can still register to attend the final event.
The fourth and final program of this year’s annual Women’s Series will take place April 27, in the third-floor auditorium at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.
Don Bryant of Bryant Landscaping will kick off the evening at 6 p.m. with a presentation titled “How to Grow Tomatoes in Richmond County.” At 6:45 p.m., Andrew Doolittle, M.D., will present “Gardening and Allergic Disease.”
A board certified otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat specialist) with Mid-Carolinas Surgical Associates, Dr. Doolittle earned his M.D. from the Boston (Mass.) University School of Medicine and completed his otolaryngology residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Participation in the event is free, but registration is required. Refreshments will be provided.
The annual “Just for You” Women’s Series is sponsored by the FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital Foundation, which supports FirstHealth services for the residents of Richmond County, and Richmond Memorial Hospital.
The opening session of the series took place on April 6, with body mass index and body fat composition provided by the Richmond 2020 Group and “Starting an Exercise Program” presented by Lauren Alter, M.D.
The FirstHealth Wound Care Center presented “Happy Feet – Foot Care and How to Select Proper Shoes” and Kimberley Lingler, M.D., discussed “Sleep Changes and Concerns” during the April 13 program.
Kelsey Coy, an acupuncturist with the FirstHealth Center for Health & Fitness-Richmond provided an interactive lecture on Tuesday, April 20, titled “Nourish to Flourish: Balancing Yin and Yang to Promote Health.”
