Contributed photo | FerroFab President Willy Hauer (third from right) signs a contract with Richmond Community College to have the college provide the new industry nearly $40,000 in courses ranging from welding and hoist training to ergonomics and ISO training. The cost of the courses is picked up by RCC’s Customized Training Program, which is funded by the state to help industries become and remain competitive in today’s global marketplace. RCC’s ability to assist FerroFab and the availability of skilled welders in the area were factors in the industry’s decision to locate in Hamlet. Pictured with Hauer are (left to right) RCC Customized Training Program Director Lee Eller, RCC Vice President for Workforce and Economic Development Steve Smith, and RCC President Dale McInnis.
