Funeral services were held on Thursday, Mar. 3, 2011, at St. John United Methodist Church with burial following in the Lytch Family Cemetery.
Mr. Hinson was born July 4, 1946 in Scotland County, son of Everette R. Hinson Sr. and the late Louise Sweatt Hinson. He was an automobile mechanic formerly with Herman’s Tire Company and then Haney’s Tire and Recapping Service retiring after many years of service. He served as a faithful member of St. John United Methodist Church where he enjoyed doing his church work. Dick also enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, James Pate and R.M. Hinson.
Dick is survived by his wife, Jane Lytch Hinson of the home; a son, Everette “Reed” Hinson III and wife, Jeanine of Rockingham; his daughters, Amanda O’Tuel and companion Jimmy Zimmerman of Norfolk, Va., Mamie O’Tuel-Smith and husband Robbie of Wilmington, Lisa J. Hinson of Pembroke; his father, Everette, R. Hinson Sr.; sisters, Shirley Goodwin and husband Charles of Laurel Hill, Mackie Johnson of Laurinburg; four grandchildren, Garrett Smith, Zachary Hinson, Matthew Zimmerman and Grantt Smith.
