Eula Pearl Thornberg, 88, of Raeford, died Monday, May 28, 2012, in her home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, at Shiloh Presbyterian Church with Reverend Stephen Hannah officiating.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Avenue, Raeford.

Mrs. Thornberg was born in Johnston County on Nov. 30, 1923, to the late Henry W. Johnson and Annie Massengill Johnson. She was a member of the Shiloh Presbyterian Church. She graduated from the North Carolina Training School for Nursing at McCain and retired with the North Carolina Department of Correction at McCain.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Thornberg.

Survivors are two sons, Alan J. Thornberg of Pinebluff and Harry Lee Thornberg of Raeford; a daughter, Patricia T. Stokes of Rockingham; a brother George Johnson of Benson, five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
