Saturday, the clean-up efforts will begin at 11 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon. Thomas Street is parallel to Highway 74, and the lunch will take place in front of houses 945, 949 and 953.
Grilled hot dogs, homemade chili, baked beans and slaw will be served. Feel free to bring one of your favorite dishes. Brownies are needed as well.
Visitors will have a chance to meet the new Sheriff, Maj. James “Clem” Clemmons, and Lt. Mark Gulledge from the Sheriff’s Department.
The fire department, police department and the rescue squad will be there to meet and greet people as well as other neighbors.
There will be an information booth and people will be putting up neighborhood watch signs.
