Mrs. Colleen Kelly Thrower, 86, formerly of County Home Road, Rockingham died Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the home of her daughter.  She was born Dec. 4, 1923 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Ira and Julia Wallace Kelly.

Mrs. Thrower was a member of Sweet Haven Church and was a homemaker.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Sweet Haven Church with Rev. Mitchell Roller and Rev. Lester English officiating.  Interment will follow in Richmond Memorial Park.

Surviving is her husband of 62 years, John C. Thrower; two daughters, Carolyn Bryant of London, KY and Barbara Roller of Rockingham; a son, Harry Ponds, Jr. of Rockingham, nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; and one brother, Ed Kelly of Rockingham. 

Mrs. Thrower was preceded in death by a grandson, Harry Robert Ponds and brothers, Oscar Kelly, I.B. Kelly, and J.C. Kelly; and sisters, Ada Bullard, Lillian Dunn, Vera Long and Alma Kelly.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sweet Haven Church and other times at 118 Country Club Drive, Rockingham.
