Members of the Sandhills Shag Club recently presented a check to Larry Veach, post commander of VFW Post 4203 in Rockingham. The check will be used to help maintain the VFW’s Memorial Park. This money was raised by the efforts of the Sandhills Shag Club, VFW- Post 4203 and the Village Pawn and Gun Shop in Wadesboro. The winner of the raffle was Chris Johnson of Wadesboro. Linda Davidson, a member of the committee that organized the event, has a son in service. This inspired her to form a committee and get to work, we sent 226 boxes of Little Debbie cakes , raised $1,315.00 for the Memorial Park and sent cards to troops.
