Thomas Claude Brigman 88, of Rockingham, died Aug. 3, 2012, at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

A graveside serve will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Eastside cemetery with Dr. Rev. Jim Nelson officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at his daughter Cathy’s house.

Mr. Brigman was born Aug. 6, 1923, in New Berry, S.C., a son of the late Robert and Carrie Thomas Brigman. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Rockingham and served his country in the Navy during WW II. He retired from Clark Equipment. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Catherine Brigman in2009.

He is survived by his son Sam Brigman and wife Anne, Linda B. Terry and husband Luther, and Cathy B. McDuffie and husband Chris all of Rockingham, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Rockingham, P.O. Box 804, Rockingham N.C. 28380.
