Billy Ray was born February 4, 1943 in Richmond County, a son of the late Julian P. and Ida McDonald Maner.
He retired from Clark Equipment where he worked in the maintenance department. He served his country in the U.S. Army.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday at Greenlake United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Dwayne Quick officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at 118 Wilderness Drive Rockingham.
Billy is survived by one sister, Jean M. Brooks of Rockingham; a special friend, Pat Gibson of Hamlet; and a number of nieces and nephews.
