As the political circus continues in Washington, there is only one person I’m interested in seeing getting the boot: Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

But my reasoning has absolutely nothing to do with anything regarding Russia.

Sessions has vowed to ramp up President Nixon’s War on Drugs, a prohibitionist policy that has been a colossal failure over the past 40 years — in addition to an assault on civil liberties that even the Supreme Court has had a hand in.

While most of the country has changed its mind on cannabis over the past decade, Sessions seems to have Reefer Madness, claiming late last year prior to his confirmation: “Good people don’t smoke marijuana.”

I don’t partake of the plant myself, but know plenty of “good people” who do — including local cannabis crusader Perry Parks, who has been fighting for years to be able to legally treat his ailments without pharmaceuticals.

The AG is also favor of the egregious practice of civil asset forfeiture — where property and cash can be seized from someone on the mere suspicion that it may be used in criminal activity (which is only criminal because of words on paper, not because there is a victim) and without charges being filed, much less a conviction.

Sessions is clearly no supporter of liberty.
