Bronco games rained out

ROCKINGHAM — The Pony League Bronco Piedmont Section tournament took a day off thanks to Mother Nature.

The showdown between the two undefeated teams — Garner and West Raleigh — was postponed because of rain. The game is now scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday. The loser will square off with Southwest Randolph in an elimination contest at 7 p.m.

The championship game has been pushed back to 10 a.m. Saturday.

Pony team rallies

HIGH POINT — The Rockingham Pony team was trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the first to Henry County 2 in an elimination game when rain caused the contest to be delayed.

Rockingham avoided elimination by rallying for a 9-5 victory Thursday night.

Rockingham will face the loser of the Henry County 1 and Huntsville contest at 8 p.m. Friday.
