ROCKINGHAM — The Richmond Senior athletic department recently released part of its fall sports schedule.
The football team will be on the road for two straight weeks to open the regular season.
Richmond will travel to Rocky River Aug. 22 before heading to the beach to take on Marlboro County the following week in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The team’s first appearance in Raider Stadium will come Sept. 5 against Vance. Richmond will welcome Jack Britt on Sept. 12.
The Raiders will be back on the road Sept. 19, this time to face Butler. Richmond will close out its non-conference slate with its homecoming contest against Anson on Sept. 26.
Following an open date, Richmond will begin Southeastern Conference play in Raider Stadium when Hoke visits on Oct. 10.
The team will then visit Robeson County in back-to-back weeks, first heading to Purnell Swett on Oct. 17 before going to Lumberton on Oct. 24.
Richmond will wrap up its regular season with home games against Pinecrest and Scotland on Oct. 31 and Nov. 7, respectively.
All of the regular-season contests are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
Richmond’s boys soccer team will play 19 regular-season contests this fall — nine home and 10 away.
This year’s schedule will feature games non-conference games against Forest Hills, North Moore, Pine Forest, South View, Southern Lee, Union Pines and Whiteville.
The Raiders will open on the road against Union Pines at 7 p.m. Aug. 18. The team’s first home contest is scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 20 against Pine Forest.
Richmond’s first SEC contest will be at home against Hoke at 7 p.m. Sept. 10. The team’s Senior Night will be 7 p.m. Oct. 8 against Lumberton. Its final regular season match will be 7 p.m. Oct. 15 at Scotland.
The volleyball team has 21 matches slated for the fall — 11 home and 10 away. Its non-conference slate includes: Anson, Forest Hills, Jack Britt, Lee County, South Stanly, Southern Lee and Sun Valley.
Unlike the football and soccer squads, Richmond’s volleyball team will open its regular season at home 6 p.m. Aug. 18 against South Stanly. The team will then play back-to-back road contests at Anson and Southern Lee, Aug. 20 and 21.
Richmond will open SEC play at home against Hoke 6 p.m. Sept. 4. Senior Night is scheduled 6 p.m. Oct. 2 against Lumberton. The Raiders will wrap up their regular season schedule 6 p.m. Oct. 9 at Scotland.
