The Raiders trimmed the deficit to 5-3 when James Buie and Mike Rush recorded run-scoring singles in the top of the sixth. Richmond was able to push across a single run in the seventh on a single by Taylor McLean, but was unable to get the equalizer.
Richmond coach Ricky Young added another game to the schedule to replace the rained out West Johnston contest. Richmond will face Southern Lee 7 p.m. Thursday at Raider Field.
