For more than 25 years, I’ve seen to it that American flags are placed beside veterans’ graves in Richmond County each Memorial Day. I would like to thank each and every person who has donated money to buy the flags to honor these men who served and who died for this country. Donations have helped me collect about 4,000 flags.

The government doesn’t donate any money for these flags. The only way we can continue this gesture to remember our fallen soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines is through the generous contributions of Richmond County residents. As Disabled American Veterans post commander, I would like to thank each and every person who has helped us to buy these flags and continue a tradition of honor and respect.
