Mrs. Pamella Sue Felix, 60, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer.
She died peacefully in the arms of her daughter and mother. The last words she could speak were “The Lord Is My Shepherd.” Surely Pam is with the Lord now.
Pam was born May 24, 1953, in Johnstown, Pa., a daughter of the late Robert E. Bender and Hannah Christine Hildebrand Bender. She grew up in Johnstown and Salix, Pa., and graduated from Forest Hills High School, Class of 1971. In 1978, she moved to Rockingham, N.C., where she owned and operated Southeast Stone Company where she had many wonderful business associates.
Surviving are her mother, Hannah Hildebrand Bender of Windber, Pa.; children, Owen R. Felix of Rockingham, Renea F. Purvis of Prosperity, S.C.; grandchildren, Justin Felix and Jamie Purvis; sister, Sandy Guyer of Bedford, Pa.; brother, David Bender of Pasadena, Md. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with the Rev. Steve Eddins officiating. Interment will be held in the Hedrick Cemetery in Conemaugh, Pa.
The family will see friends following the service at Carter Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Harmony Baptist Church, c/o Glenda Stutts, 143 Carroll Farm Road, Rockingham, NC 28379. Their staff and congregation have been a great source of comfort to Pam.
