Mrs. Louise Capel Stogner, 88, of 536 Louis Breeden Blvd. in Hamlet, N.C., died Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born March 6, 1925, in Richmond County, daughter of Arthur Lee Capel and Georgianna Hicks Capel.
Mrs. Stogner was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hamlet, attended Coker College and previously worked as a bookkeeper for Fetners Furniture and Rice Insurance Agency. She had a passion for flowers as well as gardening, growing her own vegetables and doing needlework. Her greatest loves were her family and her church.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 53 years, Henry Carl Stogner Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Henry Carl Stogner III and wife, Luann Susa of Texas, Wayne Stogner and wife Mary McKenzie of Rockingham and Larry Stogner and wife Karen Hinson of Hamlet; grandchildren, Michele Guerette Stavens and husband, Philip, Rob Guerette and wife Amy Bridgemon, Kristin Stogner Winegarden and husband Jeff, John, Sarah and David Stogner, Jeremy Hollingsworth, Ian Hollingsworth and wife Shelby, Emma Louise and Meredith Stogner; great-grandchildren, Parker, Pierce, Mia and Stella Mae Stavens, Riley Guerette, Liam Carl Winegarden and Addison Hollingsworth.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Harrington Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at First Baptist Church in Hamlet with the Rev. Randy Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park in Rockingham.
The family would like to thank Scotland County Hospice as well as Mrs. Stogner’s caregivers, Gloria Waters, Sarah Brigman, Rose Bennett, Brenda Gibson, Mary Short and Cathy Gaddy for all their care and concern.
