Sarah Elizabeth “Lib” Campbell Solomon, 85, of Rockingham, N.C., died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
She was born Sept. 14, 1928, in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Neal and Dora Lena Webb Campbell.
She retired from Burlington Industries as a weaver and was president of the local Brown Lung chapter for many years.
Solomon was preceded in death by her son, Robert Gaines “Bobby” Solomon and a daughter, Barbara Elise Hawley. Also preceding her in death were brothers, Gutherie Campbell, Henry Campbell, Benjamin Campbell and Robert Campbell and her sister, Virginia Campbell Sellers.
Solomon is survived by a brother, James C. “Jack” Campbell (Janice); a daughter, Sandra S. Estridge (Lanny) of Lancaster, S.C.; a son, Vista H. Richey (Karen) of Beaver Creek, Ohio; grandchildren, L. Brian Estridge, Jr. (Becky), Heather E. Curless (Geoff), Bob Smith (Crystal), DeeDee Hines (Chris), Cathy Wheatley (Nathan), David Richey (Eve) and Tony, Jimmy and Tommy Johnson; 18 great-grandchildren and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday at Cordova Baptist Church, 226 Ledbetter St. in Cordova, with the Rev. Mike Childers officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond Memorial Park in Rockingham.
