Mr. James Howard Poplin, 73, of 111 Charles McDonald Road, Rockingham N.C., died on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at his residence.
He was born in Richmond County on July 13, 1940. He was the son of Oscar Underwood Poplin and Josie Leviner Poplin.
He was in the National Guard and has been employed at Perdue as an electrician before his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Quick Poplin of Rockingham; daughter, Jamie Leigh Poplin of High Point, N.C.; sons, Kenneth and Randy Poplin both of High Point, Mike, Larry W. and Tony Lee Scott all of Rockingham and Terry Ray Scott of Burlington, N.C.; brother, Edward Lee Poplin of Rockingham; sisters, Earline McDonald and Pearl Goins both of Rockingham, Elizabeth Poplin of Hamlet, and Linda Rivers of Charlotte, N.C.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; and his loyal companion, “Sweety.”
The family will have a private memorial service.
