Charles “Stuart” Myers, 72, of 102 Pinewild Lane, Rockingham, N.C., died Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at his home. He was the husband of Judith Dews Myers.
He was born June 27, 1941 in Davidson County. He was the son of the late Joseph Graham Myers and Ruth Beck Myers. Mr. Myers attended Baptist and Pentecostal Holiness churches and served as president of the Raeford Lions Club. His career in textiles spanned 52 years and was the former plant manager of Burlington Industries, Klopman Division in Hurt, V.A. and J.P. Stevens in Milledgeville, G.A.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Charles Edward Myers and his wife Lisa of Gray, Ga.; a daughter, Carla June Meissner and her husband Mark of Greensboro, N.C.; a step-son, Teddy Worsham and his wife Cheryl of Milledgeville, Ga.; two brothers, Druid Myers and his wife Juanita and Harold Myers and his wife Betty Ruth, all of Lexington, N.C.; a sister, Evelyn M. Rachels of Lexington; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, one step-great grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 at St. John Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hurt, Va., by the Rev. Tim Lane with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Lillian Taylor at 1629 Melinda Drive, Altavista, Va.
