ROCKINGHAM — Although the cat isn’t officially out of the bag, Richmond Community Theatre posted the titles of three plays on its public Facebook page, exciting the imaginations of fans throughout the area.
“Love Letters” by A.R. Guerney Jr., “Always a Bridesmaid” by Hope, Jones and Wooten, and “The Lady with All the Answers” by David Rambo were posted to the Facebook page as the theatre’s cover photo this week, with the caveat “Subject to change based on availability of rights and casting requirements.”
Shelly Walker, director of the theatre, said there’s still a lot of preliminary work to be done before the official season is finalized. In an email to the Daily Journal, Walker said:
“Though the Richmond Community Theatre is getting excited about our upcoming season of plays, which the play titles are listed on our Facebook page, we haven’t made our formal season announcement just yet. We are still working out all of the detail of our ticket prices.
“With the new amusement tax law, the theatre will have to charge taxes on our ticket prices and we’re planning how we can best handle that as a primarily volunteer organization. It is the theatre’s hope to keep our costs low for our longtime patrons and season ticket holders while still complying with the new law.”
