ROCKINGHAM — Police have charged a city man with stealing more than $300 worth of bowties from Belk.
Ernest Alexander Wall, 31, of 827 Rockingham Road, swiped bowties with a total value of$312.85 from the department store at 1305 E. Broad Ave. on Thursday, according to a warrant for his arrest.
Rockingham police also accused Wall of stealing multi-packs of Snickers and Hershey’s candy bars from Save-a-Lot, warrants state. The chocolate is valued at $39.90.
Wall was released from prison in August 2011 after serving nine months on a felony breaking and entering conviction in Richmond County, state Division of Adult Correction records show. He has eight prior convictions of larceny and shoplifting in North Carolina.
State prison records show several aliases listed under Wall’s name, including Krazy E.
Wall faces two counts of misdemeanor larceny and is scheduled to appear in Richmond County District Court on Sept. 11.
