HAMLET — Police have arrested the second suspect accused in a check fraud scheme.
William Anthony Jamison was arrested Monday on an outstanding warrant and placed in the Richmond County Detention Center under a $30,000 secured bond.
The arrest dates back to July 31 when Hamlet police investigated a fraud case at BB&T where another suspect, Anquilla Douglas, allegedly cashed several bad checks written by Jamison totaling $1,500.
Douglas and Jamison were charged with four counts each of obtaining money or property by false pretense and four counts each of conspiracy to obtain property by false pretense.
Douglas was arrested at that time and placed in the Richmond County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond, but Jamison remained at large until his arrest Monday.
