ELLERBE — Some Richmond County residents will have their water turned off for most of the day Monday as crews install a replacement water line.
Water service will be interrupted on the Ellerbe side of Sandy Ridge Church Road before the N.C. Department of Transportation road project there, Richmond County Water Maintenance Supervisor Terry Richardson said in a statement.
Richardson anticipates the water will be off for much of the day Monday. Service will not be disrupted before 8 a.m., he said.
“We regret any inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding,” Richardson said in the statement.
Officials suggest that affected residents fill their bathtubs to provide water during the service interruption. To avoid the possibility of damage to hot water heaters, officials also recommend that residents turn off the circuit breaker for the water heater until service is restored. If the entrance panel has fuses, residents can simply remove the fuse.
If inclement weather prevents the water line replacement on Monday, county crews will reschedule the repair for a later date.
