WADESBORO — Police have charged a man with breaking into and stealing from a local church.

Wadesboro police on July 17 arrested Curtis Little Jr., 34, on charges of felony breaking and entering and felony larceny after breaking and entering.

Police Chief Thedis Spencer said Little broke into Ebenezer Baptist Church at 612 Salisbury St.

Little has a criminal record dating back to 1996. He was released from prison in August 2009 after serving a 6-month prison sentence on Anson County convictions of felony breaking and entering of a vehicle, misdemeanor possession of stolen goods and using or possessing drug paraphernalia.

He had previously served a 2-year sentence after being convicted of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, N.C. Division of Adult Correction records show.

Little is in the Anson County Jail. His bond is set at $25,000 and his next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 5.
