HAMLET — Two people were jailed Sunday after police and sheriff’s deputies say they found marijuana plants growng inside their home.

Authorities arrested 55-year-old Winford Hugh Brigman and 44-year-old Linda Brigman after a search of their home Sunday, Hamlet Police Chief Rodney Tucker said. Police and Richmond County deputies received a tip from the Crime Stoppers hotline.

Hamlet police obtained a search warrant after visiting the home and investigating further, Tucker said. Police and deputies say they seized several marijuana plants and unspecified items of drug paraphernalia.

Neither Winford nor Linda Brigman has a criminal record in North Carolina, according to N.C. Division of Adult Correction records.

The Brigmans each face charges of manufacturing marijuana and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. They were booked into the Richmond County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.
