HAMLET — A convicted felon on probation is accused of selling meth to plainclothes Richmond County sheriff’s deputies.
Robert Allen Beck, 27, of Charlotte Street in Hamlet, was arrested Monday on charges of selling methamphetamine and possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, sheriff’s Capt. Jay Childers said Wednesday.
Beck is on active probation for a March 31 felony breaking and entering conviction, according to the N.C. Department of Public Safety’s Division of Adult Correction. He received an 18-month suspended sentence on the Richmond County charge.
Beck also was convicted of misdemeanor possession of stolen goods in Richmond County in July 2005, state records show. He received probation on that charge and has never served prison time in North Carolina.
Deputies booked Beck into the Richmond County Jail under a $15,000 secured bond on Monday.
