Spenser Elizabeth McNeill of Rockingham was recently sworn in as an attorney at law for the state of North Carolina.


Richmond County District Court Judge William C. Tucker officiated the swearing-in and administered the oath of office. McNeill was sworn in May 8 at the Richmond County Judicial Center.


Local attorney Derek Crawford presented McNeill to the court. Family members, friends and several Richmond County Bar members were in attendance.


McNeill is the daughter of Annette McNeill and Mike McNeill of Rockingham. She is the granddaughter of the late Fred and Ida McNeill of Rockingham and Clara Mallard and the late Edgar Mallard of Derby.


McNeill is a 2006 magna cum laude graduate of Richmond Senior High School and a 2010 cum laude graduate of Campbell University, where she obtained her bachelor’s in government with a minor in business administration. She received her juris doctor degree from Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in 2013.
