ROCKINGHAM — Daryl Mason’s appointment to the Richmond County Board of Commissioners is now official.

Clerk of Superior Court Vickie Daniel administered the oath of office to Mason in a brief Tuesday afternoon ceremony at the Richmond County Judicial Center.

A small group of onlookers included Sheriff James E. Clemmons Jr. and the Rev. Dian Griffin Jackson.

Commissioners appointed Mason to the board July 7 to fill the remainder of Jimmy Maske’s term after Maske stepped down due to health concerns.
