ROCKINGHAM — Police are looking for a man who they say fired shotgun blasts into an occupied car.

Rockingham police say they received a call around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday claiming Keenan Von’derick Johnson fired a 12-guage shotgun into Robert Elliot Watkins’ vehicle on Skipper Street.

Watkins told police that he was inside the car at the time but did not sustain any injuries.

Police say Johnson, whose nickname is “Nico,” took off on foot and was not found by Tuesday afternoon.

Warrants have been issued for Johnson’s arrest on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a weapon into an occupied property and discharging a firearm in the city limits.

Police say Johnson is a black man who is about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds.

Anyone who sees Johnson is asked to call the Rockingham Police Department at 910-895-2468.

Court records show Johnson is currently facing charges of interfering with emergency communication, injury to personal property and manufacturing marijuana.
