ROCKINGHAM — Police have charged a Bojangles’ employee with calling in a fake bomb threat at the fast-food restaurant on U.S. 74 Business.


Danielle Jaris Jones, 20, of 1335 Cauthen Drive, was arrested Monday after allegedly calling 911 on Saturday and reporting a bomb at Bojangles’ Famous Chicken and Biscuits, 1704 E. Broad Ave., charging documents state. Rockingham police said no explosive devices were found at the restaurant.


Jones was uncooperative during a police interview, punching one detective in the head and struggling with another, according to a magistrate’s order. Police also accuse her of damaging an interior wall in the Rockingham Police Department investigation room.


Jones is charged with making a false bomb report for a public building, assault on a government official or emplyoee, resisting a public officer and causing injury to real property.


A Richmond County magistrate ordered Jones jailed under a combined $5,000 secured bond. Her first court appearance on the charges is scheduled for June 26.
