Jim Chandler joins Richmond County soil, water board

ROCKINGHAM — Jim Chandler, a Mangum cattle farmer, was sworn in as the newest board member for the Richmond County Soil and Water Conservation District early Friday.

He was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Cecil Robinson, which expires in December. Robinson stepped down to spend more time on his farm.

Chandler has a master’s of science degree in chemistry and is a member of the Agriculture Advisory Board. He is also a Democratic Party precinct chair and president of the Wadesboro Lions Club.
