To the editor:
What could have been a very unpleasant experience turned out not to be so bad and I would like to publicly thank the people that helped my husband and me.
I lived most of my life in Rockingham and still visit often and love the people here. While in town on Friday afternoon conducting some business we had done some work at my mothers home and decided to go out for dinner at about five o’clock and found that our car would not shift into gear. Stranded we were!
So with IPad in lap in the car I looked up the local Chrysler dealership which was Griffin and found out they are open until eight on Friday which was great for us. They recommended a tow service that we called. Chris with Rockingham Towing was available and came out within 30 minutes and was so efficient and nice.
We had called our AAA but learned that it could be two hours so we opted to use the local service and what a good decision. Saturday morning we got a call from Griffin and the car was a simple kit and they could have us going in a few hours.
Knowing this, I knew that we had to say a special thanks and let everyone know that we thank you Griffin and Rockingham Towing Service for your expedient service in coming to our assistance. Home town service is hard to come by. We did not get to eat the good fish dinner but we did meet some new folks and have another nice memory to keep with us of Rockingham.
